Det här är verkligen kurslitteratur, men ändå ganska kul kurslitteratur. Boken är uppdelad i tre delar: historia, form och kultur. Den ger verkligen en bra introduktion till ämnet. Dels med en historisk bakgrund, men också med hur man skapar comics, läser och analyserar comics, olika genres, "The business of comic books" och deras läsare, olika comic book kulturer och en massa annat. Ur en "jag vill förstå comics-världen"-synvinkel är det en väldigt bra bok. Dock finns det andra böcker med mer fokus på hur man gör comics och mer specifikt hur comics mediet fungerar utan allt det här runt omkring som den här boken lyfter fram. På det sättet är den väldigt bra, då jag inte alls är intresserad av själva produktionen av att skapa en comics - alltså själva arbetet för en writer eller artist.  

De delar jag har läst har varit väldigt bra. Dock ställer den krav på att man kan läsa relativt svår/akademisk engelska men annars är den intressant att läsa. Även fast den ställer krav på att man kan engelska så är den ändå inte särskilt "tung" att läsa. Det är mycket bilder och olika rutor med information m.m. som ändå gör den relativt lätthanterlig.

Precis som Blue Beetle var det kul att läsa dessa mest bara för att se vad deras historia är här till skillnad mot hur de introduceras i Smallville. Båda är väl okej berättelser, dock tycker jag att de inte riktigt slår igenom. Vilket antagligen mest beror på mitt ointresse för dem. Sorry about that!

Den första hade kanske lite mer spännande berättelse, dock tycker jag generellt att den andra var bättre. Förutom att alltför många karaktärer introducerades! Lite för och nackdelar med båda. Dock generellt inte über-intressant! 

Trivia: Paul Levitz har för övrigt typ varit "President" för DC Comics!
